Refunds
last updated October 14, 2026
The short version: if a challenge doesn't happen, you get everything back. Once you're in a challenge, your entry is in the prize pool.
Cancelled challenges: full refund, fee included
If a challenge is cancelled, every entrant gets a full refund of the entry and the service fee. That happens when:
- it has fewer than the minimum entrants when it starts (10 for official challenges, 5 for community challenges, 2 for private ones), or
- steppix cancels it because it can't run fairly or as described (for example a system failure or a legal requirement), or
- your entry is voided because paid challenges stopped being available where you joined from before the challenge started.
Refunds go back to where the money came from: card payments to your card (if the card refund can't be completed, the amount goes to your steppix wallet and we'll let you know), wallet balance to your wallet, and entry credit back as entry credit. Card refunds usually show up within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. If the cancelled entry had earned you a welcome or referral credit, that credit is taken back.
Entries are final once you've joined
Once your entry is confirmed, it can't be withdrawn or refunded, before or after the challenge starts, except as described above. If you don't finish, your entry stays in the prize pool and goes to the finishers, as the official contest rules explain. The service fee isn't refundable once a challenge runs.
Failed or interrupted checkouts
If a payment fails, you're not entered and you're not charged. If you're charged but your entry wasn't confirmed (for example you closed the app mid-checkout, or joins closed first), we refund the charge automatically. If something looks wrong, email support@steppix.app with the date and amount.
If nobody finishes
That isn't a cancellation, but: everyone gets their entry back in full. the only exception: players disqualified for cheating get nothing back. The service fee isn't refunded, because the challenge ran. See the official contest rules.
Result errors
If a steppix system error affects a result, we'll correct it, which can include refunding or paying out an entry. See the official contest rules.
Steppix+ subscriptions
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. See the subscription terms.
Card disputes
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We can usually fix it faster. Chargebacks on entries in challenges that ran may lead to account suspension under the terms.
