We want everyone to be able to use steppix, the app and steppix.app alike.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA on steppix.app, and we design the app to work with iOS accessibility features.
What we do
- Website: semantic structure and landmarks, a "skip to content" link, visible focus, keyboard access to every control, text alternatives for images, sufficient colour contrast (our green is tuned to at least 7:1 on our dark background), and no motion when your device asks for reduced motion. We run automated accessibility checks (axe) on every page in our test suite.
- App: accessibility labels on controls and images for VoiceOver, and haptics alongside visual feedback. We're continuing to improve support for the largest text sizes.
Known limitations
- Some app screens with large numbers may truncate at the largest Dynamic Type sizes.
- Challenge covers are decorative; the challenge's details are always available as text.
Tell us
If something is hard to use, email support@steppix.app and tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days and will offer the information you need in another format if we can't fix it right away.
